CRB 395 Spud Barge with Link Belt 518 150 Ton Crane

Barge and crane are in very good condition.  Barge was just blasted and painted in Sept 2015.

 

Machinery :
Located to port, outboard of crane, is a skid mounted, American, waterfall type, diesel
powered winch for actuating spuds. The prime mover for this winch is a Detroit Diesel model
4-71NA, four cylinder diesel engine driving unit through a Twin Disc mechanical/ hydraulic
torque converter. The diesel engine is 12- volt electric starting and radiator cooled. Subject
winch is fitted with a cylindrical fuel oil tank mounted below the diesel engine.
Oxygen and acetylene bottles are located on forward deck in suitable rack.
One( 1) Miller Big Blue 402P arc welder is skid-mounted on deck.

Spuds:
The port side, forward no. 1 hull compartment and port side aft no.4 hull compartment are
each fitted with one ( 1) inside type spud well and spud. Spud wells are 4′ x 4′ x 4′ set atop
1′ doubler plates and fitted with two 12″ sheaves. The spuds are constructed of round pipe
fitted with substantial angle iron corners and measure 11- 1/ 2″ x 11 1/ 2″ x 45′ in length.
These spuds are activated by cables running through sheaves and are served by the two drum
winch. Additionally, spuds are fitted with cable atop the spuds affording activation by the
crane.

Crane:
Located on centerline, over the no. 1 mid-body compartment is a Link-Belt, LS 518, 150 ton,
crawler crane, built in 1970. Subject crane is fitted with an approximate 150′ tubular ” High
Life” steel boom and boom gantry. Crane, serial no. is 4EW298, powered by a Detroit Diesel
8- V-71 naturally aspirated, radiator cooled, oil cooled, 12- volt electric starting diesel engine.
Subject diesel engine drives the unit through a three stage torque converter. Crane is fitted
with catwalks and tracks are 21′ in length.
